Verses on COVID-19

covid politics poetry favorites words things I will regret

In matters of contagion,
How far one's threat extends!
One droplet can endanger
One's friends of friends of friends.
We must not grow complacent,
We few who understand--
But stand and fight for safety
For the others in our land.

A man who thinks that vaccines
Will freeze his child's heart,
Or dines inside with strangers
While just three feet apart,
Imperils countless others
You've a duty to protect--
Take up the Right Man's burden
And outlaw his neglect.

(With apologies to Kipling.)
